TOMSK, May 24 – RIA Tomsk. Six Tomsk universities offer applicants 8.7 thousand state-funded places for admission to full-time education in 2019, the press service of the regional administration reported. RIA Tomsk asked representatives about which applicants they are waiting for, whether there are bonuses for high-score takers and how number of state-funded places changed.
According to the regional administration, in 2019 8.7 thousand state-funded places for full-time allocated to the Tomsk universities. Compared to last year it is allocated 111 more places for the bachelor and specialist programs in all forms of education, for full-time - 268 places more. Currently, students from 78 regions of Russia and 79 countries of the world study in Tomsk.
Bonuses for the best
This year at Tomsk Polytechnic University (TPU) there are 1.4 thousand state-funded places for applicants for bachelor degree and specialist programme and 1.2 thousand - for master degree.
According to the university, most of the state-funded places are traditionally in the specialty "Applied Geology" (45) and such areas of bachelor degree studies as "Power Engineering" (175), "Chemical Technology" (94), "Oil and Gas Business" (75) and "Power Engineering" (90). The university is ready to offer a number of bonuses to talented applicants.
"For high-scorers (those who have more than 255 points on the Unified State Exam, without taking into account individual achievements), prize-winners and winners of olympiads there is a special offer: additional scholarship up to 10 thousand rubles a month in the first semester", - the head of department of the TPU admission department Pavel Rvalov told RIA Tomsk.
According to him, they also offer priority settling to the dormitory to high-scorers, free subscription to the swimming pool, voucher to the sanatorium-preventorium of the university, and additional privileges on the "Polytechnician Card".
New programs for students
In Tomsk State University (TSU), high-scorers and prize-winners of the olympiad are also waiting for free accommodation in the dormitory and increased scholarship of up to 10 thousand rubles (the validity periods of bonuses should be clarified at TSU).

According to the head of the department of vocational guidance and work with the regions of management of the new admission of TSU Anna Korshunova, the number of state-funded places in 2019 decreased slightly. In total, for the state-funded places will recruit 3,000 people.
"We are waiting for applicants with a high level of motivation, with a research type of thinking, with leadership qualities and ready to search for non-standard solutions", - Korshunova said.
She added that there was a new profile in a bachelor degree - "Music Education". New programs are in the master's program: "International Journalism in the World of New Media", Software Engineering (in English), "Intellectual and Digital Rights" (in the direction of "Law"). The program "High Energy Physics" opens in graduate school.
For future designers and builders
At Tomsk State University of Architecture and Building 529 state-funded places are provided for teaching at the undergraduate and graduate level. In the magistracy will be able to study for free 310 people.
As follows from the materials of the university provided to RIA Tomsk, the most state-funded places in the undergraduate and graduate courses are traditionally allocated to the direction of "Construction" - 264 and 220, respectively. Least of all budget places - eight each - in such areas of undergraduate studies as “Reconstruction and restoration of architectural heritage” and “Design of architectural environment”.
Chinese at entrance examination
Tomsk State Pedagogical University (TSPU) traditionally offers dozens of specialties and areas, among which the priority training programs - are pedagogical.
In 2018 such directions as “Linguistics”, “Speech Therapy”, “Pedagogical Education”, “History” and “Social Studies” were popular among the applicants. This year, the university notes a growing interest in the Faculty of Biology and Chemistry and Physics and Mathematics.
"Unlike last year, when entering the faculty of foreign languages as an entrance test, in addition to English, German, French and Spanish, you can take the Chinese language. The agency interlocutor clarified that the number of state-funded places remained at the level of last year: 928 students are ready to accept full-time and part-time forms of education at the university.

Tomsk State University of Control Systems and Radioelectronics (TUSUR) in 2019 received 968 state-funded places in undergraduate and specialist programs and 396 places - in a magistracy.
"In total - (almost) 1.4 thousand state-funded places, this is the largest amount of state-funded places allocated to TUSUR in the entire history. This year, among applicants, a great interest is expected in areas related to the preparation of IT specialists", - the head of the admission and distribution department, the responsible secretary of the admission committee of TUSUR Alexey Mozgunov explained RIA Tomsk.
According to him, this year TUSUR successfully passed the state accreditation of all educational programs, which confirms the high quality of education and full compliance with modern federal standards.
Follow the competition in mobile
Siberian State Medical University (SSMU) retained the leadership in the number of state-funded places among medical universities beyond the Urals. 832 applicants will be able to enter the state-funded places - 42 more than in 2018.
According to the press service of the university, the number of places on such specialties as "Pediatrics", "Medical Cybernetics", "Medical Biophysics", "Clinical Psychology", "General Medicine" has increased. In addition, there are new specialties - "Social Work" and "Management". Previously, the direction of "Management" was only in the correspondence form and in the format of magistracy.
"An important innovation of this admission campaign will be the launch of a mobile application for applicants of SSMU, which will allow to monitor the competitive situation and learn the latest news of the admission campaign. The application will be available for download on two popular platforms - Apple Store and Google Play - to the beginning of document reception", - the executive secretary of the university admission committee Svetlana Gusakova specified to the agency.
The press service added that every year more than 7,000 applicants from 60 regions of Russia, as well as 28 countries of the near and far abroad submit applications to the university.
