TOMSK, May 30 – RIA Tomsk. Growth of the volumes of investments in the economy of the Tomsk
region was noted in the first quarter of 2019, it is necessary to make this
trend steady, the governor Sergei Zhvachkin reported during the annual report
to the Legislative Duma of the Tomsk region on Thursday.
Earlier it was reported that according to Tomskstat
the total amount of investment in the economy of the Tomsk region in 2018
amounted to 94.5 billion rubles (a decrease of 9.8% compared to 2017); the main
investments were attracted to the oil and gas sector. Companies engaged in the
mining and transportation of minerals, in 2018 attracted 37.5 billion rubles of
investment (49% of the total amount).
"Despite the fact that last year we implemented
more than 50 large investment projects, the volume of investments was less than
95 billion rubles. This is 10% less than in 2017, and of course I cannot arrange
it as the head of the region", – the governor stressed.
According to Zhvachkin, a significant part of the
reduction in the volume of investments is explained by agreements between
Russia and OPEC to restrict oil production. At the same time, oil and gas
industry companies increased their investments relative to 2017. But the
forecast for 2019 is favorable, the governor noted.
"There are reasons for so far muted optimism –
the results of the first quarter of 2019 indicate that the trend of falling
investments was replaced by a growth trend for the first three months. Our task
– is to make sure that this trend is sustainable", – Zhvachkin said.
