Zhvachkin promises to agree about further sponsoring of Tom

TOMSK, Jun 3 – RIA Tomsk. Governor of the Tomsk region and the president of FC Tom Sergey Zhvachkin assured that he will continue negotiations with the general sponsor on financing of club; the region can get support in construction of new football stadium from the Ministry of Sport of Russia, the press service of region administration reported on Monday.

Earlier it was reported that following the results of championship of FNL of 2018-2019 Tom took the third place. Tomsk football players played two butt matches with Ufa, which was at the 14th place in the table of the Russian Premier League (RPL) for the right of an exit to the RPL. Residents of Tomsk lost the first match with the score 2:0, and won second (home) with the minimum score. Without having gained advantage on the scored goals, Tom did not pass in the RPL.

According to the press service, on Monday, June 3, the governor congratulated players of Tom, coaching staff, fans and sponsors of team on the third place in FNL, having called it a reason for pride and an incentive for further growth.

"The head of the region noted that he will continue work with the general sponsor of FC Tom concerning financing of club and with the Ministry of Sport of the Russian Federation – concerning development of sports infrastructure", – it is said in the statement.

Zhvachkin reminded that it is planned to construct new football stadium in Tomsk. "We will develop also infrastructure for young football players for whom players of Tom are idols № 1", – the governor is quoted. Earlier it was reported that work on the project of the stadium ia already started. The object is planned to be placed on the left coast of Tom – opposite to the residential district the Northern Park or between the rivers Sennaya Kurya and Tom.

Also it was reported that at the beginning of 2019 Tom received 400 million rubles from Gazprom Neft on repayment of debts on salaries, taxes, contractual obligations and financing of the current activity. The management of the company suggested club to find one more sponsor for development of infrastructure of club and sport for children and young people – in this case Gazprom Neft will reconsider help volume.
