TOMSK, Jun 10 – RIA Tomsk. A team of students and employees
of Tomsk State University (TSU) developed a system that helps personnel
departments of oil and gas companies to quickly find new employees to solve
specific problems, the press service of the university said on Monday.
It is specified that at one of the workshops of the U-NOVUS-2019 forum
representatives of Gazpromneft Science & Technology Centre (Gazpromneft
STC) told about the difficulties in finding specialists to solve some problems
of the industry. In particular, the personnel department of the company looks
at thousands of resumes in search of a suitable employee, and 99% do not
correspond to the tasks set. To solve the problem, TSU scientists developed a
special algorithm.
"It’s easier to directly find a person who understands the required area,
then the probability that the problem will be solved quickly and efficiently is
increased. One of the ways – is automated search through the texts of final
qualification works, student publications and conference speeches", – one of
the algorithm developers Alexey Bocharov is quoted in the message.
The TSU team proposed to analyze the texts according to their terminological
composition and correlate the results with the existing industry problems.
According to the articles, term papers and final papers, the algorithm can find
the necessary young specialist.

"It will help the personnel departments to make their work on the
formation of personnel reserve faster and more efficient. The existing
algorithms can analyze the bibliographic description of publications: title,
year, university and other parameters. But these data do not give a complete
picture of what area the author specializes in and which problems he can
solve", – is added in the message.
According to the university, the work of the TSU team was appreciated by the
leading employees of Gazpromneft STC. Currently, the possibility of introducing
the developed algorithms to solve the company's internal tasks is being
discussed.
Earlier it was reported that the U-NOVUS-2019 forum was held in Tomsk on May
15-17. It was attended by representatives of industrial enterprises, innovative
business, universities and academic institutions. The forum has a practical
focus.
