TOMSK,
Aug 16 – RIA Tomsk.Tomsk Polytechnic University (TPU) become the leader among
non-capital universities and the second in Russia in the number of Scholarships
of the President of the Russian Federation for students and postgraduates to
study abroad; 10 polytechnics will go to foreign universities, the press
service of the university said on Friday.
It
is specified that the competition for the appointment of scholarships of the
President of the Russian Federation for study abroad is held for students and
graduate students annually. The scholarship includes the cost of training, visa
processing, travel to the place of study and back, accommodation, medical
insurance and payment for local transport. Fellows receive the opportunity to
study from one semester to 10 months.
"Scholarships
for study at foreign educational centers were received by 10 polytechnics
students – two Master's and eight postgraduate students. TPU is the second in
the country in the number of scholarships won after ITMO University. Master's
and postgraduate students of TPU will go for internships at universities in
France, Belgium, Spain, Germany, Portugal, China, the Czech Republic and Great
Britain", – is said in the report.
It
is emphasized that TPU is traditionally a leader among universities in the
number of winners of the competition.

According
to the TPU website, Elena Bogatova, a master's student at the Engineering
School of Non-Destructive Testing and Safety, will go to the Leibniz Institute
for Plasma Science and Technology (Germany) thanks to a scholarship, and Dmitry
Antonov, a master's student at the TPU School of Energy & Power Engineering
- to University of Brighton (UK).
"The
purpose of my research will be to study the conditions for the explosive
destruction of multicomponent fuel droplets with the formation of an aerosol to
intensify the processes of heating, evaporation and ignition. Now this
direction is actively developing. A limited group of specialists, including scientists
from University of Brighton, are engaged in the study of these processes using
modeling complexes", – Antonov is quoted in the message.
Among
the postgraduate winners, six people at once represent the Research School of
Chemistry & Applied Biomedical Sciences.
Thus,
the graduate student of this school, Yulia Vlasenko, will work for nine months
at the Institute of Advanced Chemistry of Catalonia (Spain). Maria Erzina and
Elena Milyutina will go to University of Chemistry and Technology, Prague
(Czech Republic), and Roman Chernozem will work in Portugal, at University of
Aveiro. Elizaveta Sviridova will go to conduct research at University of Lille
(France), and Ekaterina Chudinova – to Ghent University (Belgium).
Also,
the scholarship of the President of the Russian Federation was won by a
graduate student of the TPU Engineering School of Non-Destructive Testing and
Safety Alexey Volkov, he will go to the Polytechnic University of Catalonia
(Spain). And Yulia Vasilieva, a graduate student of the TPU School of Computer
Science & Robotics will work at Jilin University (China).
