Relics of the Prophet Muhammad will first arrive at Tomsk White Mosque

TOMSK, Sep 16 – RIA Tomsk. Up to 20 thousand pilgrims are expected in the Tomsk White Cathedral Mosque on Saturday, September 21, at a meeting with the relics of the Prophet Muhammad, which will first arrive in the Siberian Federal District (SFD), the head of the Muslim regional spiritual administration Nurulla Khadzhi (Tursunbaev) told RIA Tomsk.

According to him, from September 20 to 23, the Tomsk White Cathedral Mosque will celebrate its 105th anniversary. In this regard, relics of the Prophet Muhammad will arrive in Tomsk.

"The meeting with the relics of the Prophet Muhammad will take place on Saturday, September 21, in the territory of the White Cathedral Mosque at 43 Moskovsky Trakt. The meeting will begin at 10.00 and will last all day. We know for sure that there will be hair, a jug and a cup of the prophet himself, there will also be a key to the Kaaba sacred stone in Saudi Arabia", – the mufti said.

He explained that the relics will arrive in the Siberian Federal District for the first time and will be presented in Tomsk under a tent on the territory of the mosque. Part of the relics will come from Dagestan, and the main part - the hair of the prophet - from Moscow. The organizers have already decided that if the flow of pilgrims on September 21 does not stop, then the relics will stay in Tomsk for one more day.

"This relic was not even in the territory of many Muslim countries of the former Soviet Union. Therefore, a large number of pilgrims are expected to go to Tomsk. Officially, 20 thousand pilgrims were declared – they will come from other regions and neighboring countries. So far, it is impossible to estimate how many pilgrims will arrive", – he added.
