Presentation of "INOTOMSK" world-class research and educational
centers (REC) took place at "Technoprom-2019" international forum in
Novosibirsk; Tomsk REC to specialize in "Science",
"Education", "International Cooperation and Export",
"Digital Economy", "Labor Productivity" national projects,
the press service of the regional administration said.
It was previously reported that by 2024 at least 15
world-class research and educational centers should be created in the Russian
Federation based on the integration of universities, scientific organizations
and enterprises in the real sector of the economy. The Government of the
Russian Federation included Tomsk among the 20 cities where the conditions for
the formation of the REC were formed. Tomsk did not get to the number of "pilots"
of the project, along with other applicants it will have to go through
competitive selection in 2020.
According to the press service, on Wednesday,
September 18, at the "Technoprom-2019" international forum in
Novosibirsk, the deputy governor of the Tomsk region for economy Andrey Antonov
spoke about the tasks of creating the REC "INOTOMSK" in the region,
including economic transformation, modernization of industrial base, creation
of a global "region of knowledge".
"The result ... will be an accelerated growth of
scientific indicators, an increase in the potential for socio-economic and
investment development of the Tomsk region. At the same time, the Tomsk REC
will be invested in the indicators of the national projects
"Science", "Education", "International Cooperation and
Export", "Digital Economy" and "Labor productivity", –
Antonov is quoted in the message.
It is added that during the implementation of the
"Big University" project, a technological valley will be created in
the region that will unite the development centers of large companies, startup
space and a student campus for 20 thousand inhabitants.
It is noted that the presentation of the Tomsk REC was
attended by the Governor of the Novosibirsk region Andrey Travnikov and experts
of the working group of the State Council of the Russian Federation in the
"Education and Science" direction.
Earlier, the regional authorities announced their
intention to create a "Big University" in Tomsk in 2020, which will
include all universities and research institutes with the preservation of
autonomy and legal independence. The issue of the construction of the "Big
University" campus, which is planned to be erected on the left bank of the
Tom river, has already been resolved. A multifunctional student campus will
include engineering centers, technology coworkings, modern sports facilities,
food courts and much more.
About the "Science" national project
Currently the "Science" national project is
being implemented in the Russian Federation. Its key goals – are to ensure the
presence of the Russian Federation among the five leading countries of the
world engaged in research and development in areas defined by the priorities of
the scientific and technological revolution, ensuring the attractiveness of
work in the Russian Federation for leading Russian and foreign scientists,
increasing domestic spending on research and development.
It includes three projects: "Development of
scientific and scientific-industrial cooperation", "Development of
advanced infrastructure for research and development in the Russian
Federation" and "Development of human resources in the field of
research and development".
