TOMSK, Sep 18 – RIA Tomsk. The
Cup of Russia on kettlebell lifting will be held in Tomsk from September 19 to
21; 163 participants have already been announced, the youngest of whom is 15
years old, the organizers of the event told reporters on Wednesday.
As the head of the regional department for youth
policy, physical culture and sports Maxim Maximov told at a press conference in
the media center RIA Tomsk, the The Cup of Russia on kettlebell lifting will be
held in Tomsk from September 19 to 21 at the Palace of Spectacles and Sports (Krasnoarmeyskaya
Street, 126).
"There are 163 participants for today.
<...> The age of the participants at the moment is as follows: the
youngest is 15 years old, the oldest – is Vladimir Gurov, the current world
champion from Kaluga – if I am not mistaken, was born in 1978", – the
chairman of the regional kettlebell lifting federation Alexey Azhermachev
added.
According to him, the opening parade of the
competition will be held on September 20 at 18.00. Creative groups will perform
before the audience and participants, and then the athletes will demonstrate
pylon dancing skills.
"We thought for a long time how to favour our
friends kettlebell lifting and show our sights. And we decided to make such
(wooden) cups that were made in Tomsk", – Azhermachev added.

According to the press service of the regional
administration, the Cup of Russia on kettlebell lifting in Tomsk will be held
with the support of the administration of the Tomsk region. These competitions
are included in the action plan of the regional project "Sport – is the
norm of life" of the "Demography" national project.
About the "Demography" national project
Currently the "Demography" national project
is being implemented in the Russian Federation. Its key goals - are to increase
the expected duration of a healthy life, increase the total fertility rate,
increase the proportion of citizens who lead a healthy lifestyle and citizens
who systematically engage in physical education and sports.
It includes five projects: "Financial support for
families at the birth of children", "Promotion of women’s employment –
creating conditions for pre-school education for children under 3 years of age",
"Development and implementation of a systematic support program and
improving the quality of life of older citizens", "Formation of a
system of motivating citizens to a healthy lifestyle" and "Creation
of conditions for physical education and sports <...>, preparation of a
sports reserve".
