TOMSK, Sep 19 – RIA Tomsk. Tomsk Polytechnic University (TPU) is again included in the ranking of 500 leading universities in the world for graduate employment, which published by the QS Quacquarelli Symonds research center; TPU fell into the group of 301-500 and became the only Tomsk university in the ranking, the press service of Polytechnic University said on Thursday.
It was previously reported that in 2017 TPU for the
first time entered the ranking of the best universities of the world for
graduate employment – QS Graduate Employability Rankings 2018 and fell into the
group of 301-500.
According to the press service of the university, a
total of 758 universities were included in the QS ranking study, 500
universities were officially represented, each was assessed by five indicators:
employer reputation, alumni outcomes, partnerships with employers per faculty,
employer-student connections and graduate employment rate.
"The QS Quacquarelli Symonds research center has
published a ranking of the 500 leading universities of the world for graduate
employment – QS Graduate Employability Rankings 2020. Tomsk Polytechnic
University re-entered this list (group of 301-500) and became the only Tomsk
university in the ranking. By the criterion "Graduate employment
rate" TPU is on the134th place", – is said in the report.
In total, 13 Russian universities were included in the
QS Graduate Employability Rankings, including Moscow and St. Petersburg State
Universities, MGIMO University, Moscow State Technical University and Higher
School of Economics. Massachusetts Institute of Technology from the United
States as in the past few years topped the list. It is followed by Stanford
University and University of California, Los Angeles.

TPU press service specified that in 2019 more than 500
entrepreneurs from Russia and other countries provided TPU graduates with
almost three thousand jobs. More than 80% of university graduates at the time
of graduation have already decided on the place of employment.
"The stable position of TPU in this rating is
ensured by the university’s close ties with industrial partners and the
developed system of promoting graduate employment created at the university.
Companies annually show interest in Tomsk university graduates", – is
added in the message.
Tomsk Polytechnic University – is the leading
technical university of the country. It's founded in 1896 as Tomsk Technological
Institute of Practical Engineers of Emperor Nicholas II. It became the first
engineering university in the Asian part of the country. Today TPU enters the
top 10 universities of Russia and the top 400 universities of the world.
