told RIA Tomsk on Thursday.
Earlier it was reported that the rectorial powers of Chubik at TPU
expired on December 30, 2018, and he did not stand for a new term. About
20 people, including foreigners, applied for the post of the rector.
However, the ministry did not approve the main candidate determined by
the Supervisory Board of the university. After that Chubik became the
acting rector until July 9, 2020.

letter of resignation from the post of the rector. On Thursday, October
10, it became known that the Ministry of Education and Science granted
this statement.
"Today (October 10) he (Chubik) has been working for the last day. He
is not working from tomorrow", - the agency’s interlocutor said.
He added that the candidature of the new acting rector has not yet been determined.
Chubik’s appeal appeared on the university’s website a little later,
in which he thanked his colleagues for the years of collaboration.
“The time has come to pass this burden to the young generation of
managers. I went for it, being sure that Tomsk Polytechnic University is
in good condition, strong and unique, and the path of transformation
will be continued and will bring new high achievements and wide
international fame to the university, first of all, by the high quality
of our graduates", - he is quoted on the TPU website.
According to open sources, Chubik was born on July 7, 1954 in the
village of Nikolsk, Krasnoyarsk Krai. In 1971 he entered the geological
prospecting department of TPI (now TPU), after receiving a diploma in
