© Ольга Трепова TOMSK, Nov 15 – RIA Tomsk. Tomsk took the 460th place
in the annual global City innovation 12th annual classifications and rankings,
ahead of five Russian cities, is reported on the website of the rankings on
Friday.
Earlier it was reported that in 2017 Tomsk was on the
444th place, and in 2018 occupied the 462nd place.
According to the website, the annual rankings has been
compiled by analysts of the innovation agency 2thinknow (Australia) since 2007.
In total, experts evaluate 1540 cities of the world by 162 indicators,
including such as cultural assets, infrastructure for people and businesses and
market opportunities.
From the rating table it follows that in 2019 Tomsk
scored 28 out of 60 possible points and took the 460th place, ahead of five
Russian cities: Saratov (the 463th place), Orenburg (472), Tolyatti (475),
Barnaul (476) and Izhevsk (482). In total, 20 cities of Russia were included in
the rankings, Moscow (the 38th place), St. Petersburg (109) and Kazan (393) were
recognized as the most innovative.
Tomsk is also ahead of the capitals of Kazakhstan
(Astana/Nur-Sultan, 467) and Cuba (Havana, 486), according to information on
the website.
The first line of the rankings was taken by New York
(USA), on the second place is Tokyo (Japan), on the third is – London (United
Kingdom). The top 500 was closed by city of Khartoum (Republic of Sudan).
