gymnasium No. 29 Artem Batalov presented to the President of Russia
Vladimir Putin a project of a robot for tea plantations that can improve
the agricultural products quality, the development was created by
schoolchildren at the Sirius Educational Center in Sochi, the press
service of the regional administration said on Friday.
It is noted that the Russian-Indian project school "Big Challenges in
the Field of Sustainable Development" is working at the Sirius
Educational Center in Sochi. Within the framework of the school, Russian
President Vladimir Putin, who is the head of the Board of Trustees of
the Talent and Success Foundation, was presented seven group project
developments.
"The pupil of Tomsk gymnasium No. 29 Artem Batalov told the head of
state about a robot for tea plantations. Schoolchildren came up with an
automated dual robotic system that eliminates low-quality leaves and
shoots when collecting tea leaves using machine vision algorithms. This
improves the quality of the tea products collected", – is said in the
message.
It is specified that the idea of a tea robot creating is relevant
both in Sochi, which is a strategic territory for the cultivation of tea
culture, and in India, for which tea is a national treasure. Artem
Batalov visited this southern country last fall as part of a delegation
of Sirius graduates, where he worked on the "Smart Transport
Infrastructure" project.
It is added that the first international Russian-Indian project
school "Big Challenges in the Field of Sustainable Development" started
on November 29 and will last until December 7. 25 Indian and 25 Russian
schoolchildren take part in it. Each team develops a project that is
consistent with the sustainable development strategy enshrined in the UN
Declaration.
