TOMSK, Jan 14 – RIA Tomsk. Tomsk Micran company received a grant from the Russian Venture Company (RVC JSC) for the development of domestic 5G modules of medium and large service areas; It is planned to complete work on the project by 2022, a representative of the Micran press service told RIA Tomsk on Tuesday.
According to her, the interdepartmental competitive commission formed by the Ministry of Communications of Russia summed up the results of the competitive selection of leading research centers and companies to develop products, services and platform solutions based on end-to-end digital technologies.
"The Micran company was among the winners of the competitive selection of leading companies and will receive a subsidy for the implementation of the project on the theme "Development of domestic 5G modules of medium and large service areas", - the company representative said, without specifying the amount of the grant.
She noted that the project involves the development of fifth-generation (5G) base station radio modules in the frequency ranges 3.4 ... 3.8 GHz and 4.4 ... 5.0 GHz (Sub-6 band), which is by far the most popular frequency range due to its reasonable balance between the capacity of communication networks and the coverage area.
"During the project, the company plans not only to create a hardware platform, but also to develop software for digital beam-forming and digital signal processing <...> Micran plans to complete the project by the end of 2022", - the agency’s interlocutor specified.

As reported on the RVC website, grant support for a total amount of 2.8 billion rubles, in addition to the Tomsk research and production company, will receive another 10 organizations. Micran - is the only enterprise from the Tomsk region to receive support. In total, 82 applications from 19 cities of Russia were received for the competition. The amount of approved grants for the implementation of each program ranged from 224 to 300 million rubles for a period of up to three years.
Research and production company Micran JSC specializes in the production of microwave electronics, including telecommunications equipment and control and measurement instrumentation. The company has more than 100 patents for inventions.
