TOMSK, Jan 27 – RIA Tomsk. Tomsk State University (TSU) in 2019 trained more than 500 people from 12 regions of Russia
under the training program for managers working with big data; the training was
attended by specialists from healthcare, education, and social sectors, the
deputy governor for scientific and educational complex Lyudmila Ogorodova told
reporters on Monday.
To train personnel
According to the deputy governor, in November
2019, TSU won a grant of the "Personnel for the Digital Economy"
federal project and created the Competence Center for Digital Economy
"Data-Based Management" (CDO, Chief Data officer). Here TSU, together
with partners – IT companies Rubius, Enbisys and Econophysica - provides
training in management technologies based on big data.
"The Tomsk region has long been striving
to obtain the right to train managers for working with data. The grant received
by TSU provides for training managers not only from our region. 12 regions of
the Russian Federation took part in this educational cycle. A total of 505
people were trained, including 86 from the Tomsk region", – Ogorodova said
during a roundtable at RIA Tomsk.
She explained that the training was attended by
representatives of the social sphere, education and health.
As the director of the Interregional
Supercomputing Center of TSU Sergey Orlov clarified to reporters, training in
working with big data involved the preparation of management teams:

"The program implies that the "combat
unit" is not a person, but a team. This is a management team in which
competencies are formed: how to make decisions based on big data, analytical
competencies, technological competencies - how to work with data, how to build
dependencies, how to mine this data, clean".
According to Orlov, the federal project as a
whole involves the training of 5000 executives who own Big Data technologies
for various educational organizations in Russia: “We took a grant for 500
people, trained 505. In 2020 there again will be a subsidy draw – now for 8
thousand people. We also plan to participate".
To develop educational programs and cases
The Tomsk region, according to Ogorodova,
received the right not only to train managers, but also to develop educational
programs and cases that can be used both in our region and in other constituent
entities of the Russian Federation.
"Projects can be "piloted". And this part of the work is very important. Despite the short cycle
of preparation for the program (108 hours), the task of the participants – is to
develop a project that will help improve the business processes of the industry",
– she added.
