RIA Tomsk. Tomsk dance team UDI will show its "dance
in the dark" at the awarding ceremony of the prestigious Laureus World
Sports Awards 2020 in Berlin, the event will be led by American film actress
Sharon Stone, one of the founders of the team Denis Vishnyak told RIA Tomsk on
Monday.
According to the
website of the award, the 20th Laureus World Sports Awards will be held in
Berlin on February 17. It will be dedicated to the greatest sporting triumphs
of 2019. The host of the award ceremony will be the actress and producer Sharon
Stone. At the ceremony will be known the name of the "Best Athlete of the
Year" and the "Best Sports Team" .
"The
organizers of the award saw our "number in the dark" on YouTube, two
months ago they called us and invited us to perform at the award ceremony. We
started working on the number, but at that time we did not know that this is a
world-famous award. Central channels of Germany and the whole world will cover
this event. This is very large-scale both for our team and for the city as a
whole", – Vishnyak said.
According to
him, 10 dancers from the main staff of the UDI are working on the number. The
five-minute "dance in the dark" artists adapted to the theme of the
event.
"We saved
the episode of the struggle between red and white people as symbols of internal
confrontation in the soul of every athlete, then we will show some sports in
the dance. The whole performance will be held in the dark. For a month we have
been producing this number, the organizers approved it, and on February 15 we
will fly to Berlin", – the interlocutor of the agency said.
He specified
that in February, in addition to performing in Germany, the Tomsk team has
planned tours in Russian cities: performances of the artists will be seen in
Kursk, Kaluga, Voronezh and Belgorod.
UDI dance team –
is twice finalist of the Russian "Minute of Glory" (2007, 2017),
finalist of the television projects "Ukraine's Got Talent" (2014),
Britain's Got Talent (2015), America's Got Talent (2018). For the first time, a
number in the dark entitled "Illusion. The Game of Light and Shadow"
was presented at the popular world show "Britain's Got Talent" in
2015. The jury then applauded while standing. Illusion – is more a theatrical
performance than a dance – a philosophical story based on the struggle between
good and evil.
