TPU and Milan university teach SIBUR employees to optimize production

TOMSK, Feb 27 – RIA Tomsk. Fifteen young SIBUR specialists studying under the joint professional retraining program at Tomsk Polytechnic University (TPU) and Polytechnic University of Milan are developing cases for the optimization of chemical production, the best of which will be implemented at the enterprise, the university’s press service said on Thursday.

Earlier it was reported that TPU and Polytechnic University of Milan launched in 2019 a 10-month program of professional retraining "Chemical engineering" for specialists of PJSC SIBUR Holding. In addition to units on chemical technology, the course contains sections on lean manufacturing, information technology and big data.

“Recently 15 specialists of SIBUR completed the module training on the basis of Milan university. In the university’s laboratories they worked on solutions for real cases for their enterprises for a month. Now they have to return to Tomsk to undergo additional educational modules”, - is said in the message.

"The tasks for all participants are different, but all of them, in one way or another, are connected with the optimization of production processes using simulation methods. The final defense of cases will be held in June before the holding’s board. The best solutions will be implemented at SIBUR’s facilities", - the report notes.

According to the TPU press service, SIBUR specialists from Perm, Voronezh, Tobolsk and Tomsk are undergoing training under the new program. They are up to 35 years old, everyone is employed in production (the level of their posts - is from the fifth-grade equipment operators to the head of the plant and the head of production).
