TOMSK, Mar 25 – RIA Tomsk. Most of the divers from the Tomsk club Ultradive, who were unable to return to Russia from Egypt last week due to air travel restrictions due to the coronavirus pandemic, arrived in Moscow the night before, TASS reported.
Earlier it was reported that 15 divers from the Tomsk club Ultradive cannot leave Egypt, their return flight was canceled, as the Egyptian authorities suspended flights with other countries within the framework of the fight against the spread of coronavirus infection. They turned to the Russian consulate for help.
“We flew to Russia via Belarus. We were included in the official list of the consulate, however, we did not have information about the possible dates of departure. We bought tickets on our own through travel company and were able to take out, but there are still many Russians in Egypt, including three of our group remained", - TASS quoted one of the group’s members Vladimir Kopasov.
He specified that the three people remaining in Hurghada will also fly to Moscow in the near future. They had to get out of Egypt on their own, as no information was received from the Russian consulate about the removal.
According to the official website of the Russian Federal Service for Surveillance on Consumer Rights Protection and Human Wellbeing (Rospotrebnadzor), as of March 24, 495 cases of coronavirus infection were registered in Russia, 22 people recovered, 19 of them are Russian citizens, two Chinese citizens, one Italian citizen. According to the Worldometers website, as of the morning of March 25, the number of COVID-19 cases in the world exceeded 422 thousand people, almost 109 thousand recovered, and about 18.9 thousand died.
