TSU rector Galazhinsky headed consortium of HEIs and RIs of the region

TOMSK, Apr 2 – RIA Tomsk. Consortium of Tomsk universities and academic institutions to implement key regional projects - "Big University", world-class research and educational center (REC) creation and others; representatives of four Tomsk universities entered the organization leadership, TSU rector of Eduard Galazhinsky became its head, the press service of TSU reported.

It was previously reported that the "Big University" project was launched in the Tomsk region in 2019. It involves all universities and research institutes with the preservation of autonomy and legal independence. The emergence of the "Big University" is necessary to win the competition for the creation of a world-class research and educational center (REC). In total, it is planned to create 15 RECs in the Russian Federation within the framework of the "Science" national project.

According to the press service, the consortium includes seven universities, 10 academic institutes and the Tomsk Scientific Center of the SB RAS. The structure provides interaction of the authorities with the scientific and educational complex of the region and is the link between industry, applied science, university and academic environment. The day before, the consortium received a new head and four deputy chairmen.

Acting rector of Tomsk Polytechnic University (TPU) Victor Dyomin will be responsible for the "Big University" project, the first vice-rector of TPU Andrey Yakovlev will oversee the interaction with industrial partners, and also the creation of a REC in the Tomsk region", - is said in the report.

It is noted that the rector of Tomsk State University of Control Systems and Radioelectronics (TUSUR) Viktor Rulevskiy will oversee the "Export of Education", and the rector of Tomsk State University of Architecture and Building (TSUAB) Victor Vlasov - the "City-University" project.

"The deputies were elected to implement priority areas of activity in accordance with the projects that we are implementing today in the region under the leadership of the governor. In the future, we need to resolve the issue of electing a deputy who will oversee interaction with the Academy of Sciences", - the deputy governor for scientific and educational complex Lyudmila Ogorodova is quoted.
