TOMSK, Jun 5 – RIA Tomsk. The rector of TSU Eduard Galazhinsky sent an official proposal to the Minprirody to use the development of TSU Biological Institute (BI) to eliminate the environmental catastrophe after the spill of 20 thousand tons of oil products near Norilsk; TSU have "Aeroprobe" technology and other for this purpose, the press service of the university said.

According to the federal media, on May 29 in Norilsk, near the Nadezhda Metallurgical Plant of TPP-3, an accident occurred - a passenger car crashed into a tank with diesel fuel, as a result of which there was a spill and fire at the TPP. 20 thousand tons of oil products fell into the surrounding rivers and the lake. An emergency situation regime has been declared in the region.

"TSU biologists, who created more than two dozen inventions and technologies for cleaning water bodies from oil and oil products (patented), together with the industrial partner of OJSC "Manotom" offered their help in eliminating the consequences of the accident. A corresponding letter was sent on behalf of the TSU rector Eduard Galazhinsky to the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment of the Russian Federation", – is said in the report.

According to scientists, the situation is aggravated by the fact that the Ambarka River, into which the oil spilled, flows into Lake Pyasino, the length of which is 70 kilometers. "Due to hydrological features, it will accumulate oil products in the bottom sediments. If the consequences of the accident are not promptly eliminated, the amount of diesel fuel in the bottom sediments will be critical, and it can take decades to clean the lake", – says the message.

To promptly deal with the consequences of the accident, TSU biologists propose to use the “Aeroprobe”, as well as a special device for cleaning the water column at objects with a current. The equipment is placed in front of the oil-spill booms, which makes it possible to catch oil products raised from the water column.

TSU is also ready to provide ecologists with a biological product that carries out the destruction of diesel fuel. Its tests were successfully carried out in the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug (Urai), Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug (Noyabrsk), Yakutia (Chayandinskoye field), emphasizes the report.

Earlier it was reported that in 2018, scientists of TSU BI used the "Aeroprobe" to diagnose and clean the lake in the Nizhnevartovsk district. As a result, the concentration of hydrocarbons in bottom sediments decreased by 50 times. The same technology made it possible to raise 157 tons of oil from the bottom of Lake Shchuchye (Komi Republic). In addition, TSU biologists have developed a device for cleaning the water column at objects with a current.
