TOMSK, Jun 17 – RIA Tomsk. Four students from TSU will go to Troitsk, to manage startups in the field of biotechnology, thin-film electronics and electric energy storage on the basis of the TechnoSpark company; project management – is a mandatory part of the "StartupDiploma" educational program, which has been operating at TSU since 2019, the university’s press service said.

It was previously reported that in 2019, Tomsk State University (TSU) and TechnoSpark launched a program to train technology startup managers. For nine months, several university students will lead real startups and formalize the results of their work as a thesis. The launch of this program is caused by an acute shortage of technology entrepreneurs in Russia. There are no analogues to the "StartupDiploma" program in the Russian Federation.

"The TechnoSpark company summed up the results of the "Build a Company – Sell a Company" business game, (the finalists of which) will take part in the "StartupDiploma" 2020 entrepreneurial program. The winners are four TSU students who will go to Troitsk in September, where they will develop startups in the field of biotechnology, thin-film electronics and energy storage", – is said in the report.

250 TSU students took part in the qualifying games. In the final, the best students were interviewed with the profile leaders of TechnoSpark and its CEO Denis Kovalevich.

“Four TSU students became winners, all of them – are representatives of humanitarian faculties. In September, Sergey Kruglov (IEM), Vladislav Ryabukhin (IEM), Kristina Loktionova (HSJ) and Diana Sarukhanova (FHPS) will go to the company’s office in Troitsk for a 9-month internship. Funding for internships is carried out jointly by TSU and TechnoSpark, – the report said.

Winners will lead startups in the field of manufacturing flexible thin-film electronics, power storage, artificial diamonds growing, applied genetics, and industrial biotechnology. Which project each of the students will get – will be known later. An individual work plan will be developed for each participant of the program.

Recall that in 2019 TSU became one of the first universities in the country to launch the "StartupDiploma" entrepreneurial practice program. During the project, students master the specialty of the head of a new technology business in high-tech startups of the TechnoSpark group of companies and defend a diploma in these areas. The winners in 2019 were also four TSU students.
