TOMSK, Jul 6 – RIA Tomsk. The working group of Tomsk
Big University announced the enrollment in 13 postgraduate schools for the new
academic year; elite research staff will be trained here, is reported on Monday
on the website of Tomsk State University (TSU), which will oversee the work of
three schools.
It was previously reported that the "Big
University" project was launched in the Tomsk region in 2019. It involves
all universities and research institutes with the preservation of autonomy and
legal independence.
"The working group which deals with the issue of
creating joint graduate schools within the framework of the Tomsk Big
University announced the enrollment in 13 postgraduate schools in the academic
year 2020/21. The principal difference between schools – is in a new approach
to the organization of postgraduate students' education as a process of elite
research personnel training", – is said in the report.
It is added that the enrollment will be conducted in
the schools of TSU, Siberian State Medical University (SSMU), University of Control Systems and Radioelectronics (TUSUR), University of Architecture and
Building (TSUAB) and Pedagogical University (TSPU), V.E. Zuev Institute of
Atmospheric Optics of the Siberian Branch of the RAS and Cardiology Research
Institute of the Tomsk National Research Medical Center.

Three out of 13 postgraduate schools (PS) will be
implemented under the supervision of TSU. These are the International
interdisciplinary PS "Siberia and the Arctic" (director Sergey
Kirpotin), PS "Movement and Health" (director Leonid Kapilevich) and
the international PS in the field of high energy physics (director Sergey
Filimonov).

It is noted that the launch of postgraduate schools
will allow universities and research institutes of Tomsk to consolidate efforts
to attract renowned scientists, conduct high-tech events, organize seminars and
open lectures, and use infrastructure. For young scientists, this format will
facilitate academic mobility within Tomsk research and educational
organizations.
In addition, the working group has already developed a
common – advanced – online module for all postgraduate students of PS, which
includes both basic and variable courses of the educational program of
postgraduate school. Optional disciplines include grantwriting technologies,
academic skills and writing development courses, distance learning technologies
and others.

of the Tomsk scientific and educational complex in order to strengthen the
training level of young researchers. The global goal - is to provide graduates
of our postgraduate schools with all the leading Russian and foreign research

in the message.
