TOMSK, Jul 30 –
RIA Tomsk. Center of low-tonnage
chemistry for the production of chemical compounds for various industries may
appear in Tomsk by the end of 2020; it is assumed that on its basis scientists
will conduct research, as well as work " to order", the director of
the TPU Research School of Chemistry & Applied Biomedical Sciences Marina
Trusova told RIA Tomsk.
"The Center
of low-tonnage chemistry is planned to be opened within the framework of a
research and educational center for the development of technologies to order
for partners and the development of substances ... for example, biodegradable
polymers, polymers for the Arctic, for the utilization of CO2 (carbon dioxide).
This center should open, I hope, by the end of 2020", – Trusova said.
The interlocutor
of the agency clarified that scientists from Tomsk Polytechnic University,
Tomsk State University (TSU), Institute of Petroleum Chemistry SB RAS,
Engineering Chemical Technology Center will work at the Center of low-tonnage
chemistry.
According to the
press service of TPU, the backbone for the Center will be operating small
innovative enterprises at universities and two chemical engineering centers – TPU
and TSU. Now the project participants are exploring the possibilities of
organizing production sites in the Tomsk region and are choosing areas for work
that will be most in demand in different regions of the country.

It is also
reported that TPU and the InEnergy group of companies have entered into a
five-year agreement on joint research at the Center of low-tonnage chemistry.
The partners will conduct joint scientific research, develop and manufacture
high technology products, in particular materials, blocks and assemblies for
the manufacture of electrochemical generators on fuel cells.
Earlier it was
reported that the Center of low-tonnage chemistry was planned to open within
the framework of the "Big University" project. The center should
become a platform for testing new technologies, and small batches of products
will be produced here.
InEnergy – is a
group of companies established in 2008 and specializing in electrochemical
technologies and unique industrial solutions based on them. They design and
manufacture fuel cells, power supply systems for various purposes and
capacities. The group of companies includes research and training centers,
manufacturing companies and enterprises.
