TOMSK, Jul 30 –
RIA Tomsk. Tomsk State (TSU) and Tomsk Polytechnic (TPU)
universities entered the top 10 of the XI National Ranking of Universities
(NRU), prepared by the Interfax information group; the rest of Tomsk
universities were included in the first hundred of the ranking, the
Interfax-Education website reported on Thursday.
It is specified
that within the framework of the NRU project, an assessment of the activities
of 337 leading universities and institutes of Russia, including one national
research center, was carried out. The ranking includes 29 national research
universities, 10 federal, 33 flagship, as well as 21 universities participating
in the "5-100" project and seven non-state universities.
According to the
official website of the NRU, TSU ranks seventh in the 2020 rating (761 points).
The same position, but with 800 points, it held in the ranking of 2019. TPU has
746 points, it is on the eighth line, a year earlier Polytechnic University was
also on the eighth place.
The ranking is
headed by Lomonosov Moscow State University (1000 points), National Research
Nuclear University MEPhI (951 points) and Moscow Institute of Physics and
Technology (MIPT, 930 points).
Tomsk State
University of Control Systems and Radioelectronics (TUSUR) improved its
position in the national ranking, which with 469 points was placed on the line
43-45 (in 2019 – 45-47). Siberian State Medical University (SSMU), on the
contrary, worsened its position – the 56th place and 442 points (in 2019, the
48th place).
Tomsk State
Pedagogical University (TSPU) received 434 points and rose in the ranking to
the position of 62-63 (in 2019 – 63-64). Tomsk University of Architecture and
Building (TSUAB) also improved its positions – 93-94 place with 392 points (in
2019 – the 97th place).
Earlier it was
reported that TSU and TPU are national research universities and participants
in the "5-100" project to improve the competitiveness of Russian
universities.
The National
Ranking of Universities (NRU) project has been implemented by the Interfax
Group since 2010. The assessment is carried out on the basis of processing the
data of questionnaires filled in by representatives of universities, available
public data posted by educational institutions on their websites, public data
of information resources of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the
Russian Federation, as well as information from SPARK and SCAN information and
analytical systems.
