TOMSK, Sep 1 –
RIA Tomsk. Cognitive Pilot (a joint
venture between Cognitive Technologies and Sberbank), which produces UAV flight
control systems, opened production of devices for agriculture and railways on
the basis of Tomsk State University of Control Systems and Radioelectronics
(TUSUR) in 2020, a representative of the company told RIA Tomsk.
Earlier it was
reported that in 2018 the Tomsk region and the Cognitive Technologies company
agreed to cooperate in the development of unmanned systems. In 2019, in one of
the agricultural enterprises of the Tomsk region, the first field tests of a
combine equipped with a robotic control system from Cognitive Technologies took
place, in the development of which scientists from Tomsk also took part.
According to the
representative of Cognitive Pilot, the company, with the participation of
TUSUR, other Tomsk universities and contractors, with the support of the
regional administration, has created in the region the production of innovative
products Cognitive Factory. Before officially announcing the launch,
specialists were engaged in commissioning for several months.
"Cognitive
Factory is located in the Scientific Center of Tomsk, next to TUSUR, on the
banks of the Tom River (Vershinina Street), ... the Cognitive Pilot division
produces small-scale batches of agrodroids, radars and various blocks for
autonomous locomotives with volumes of up to 1 thousand units. The company
expects to start full-scale production with indicators up to ten thousand units
next year", – the interlocutor of the agency said.

Olga Uskova, CEO
of Cognitive Pilot, explained that one of the main goals of Tomsk production – is
to start exporting: “For the tasks of unmanned agricultural transport, we have
a pre-order of several thousand units ... These are South America, China and
the USA. We expect that by 2022 the volume of foreign deliveries of all our
products will amount up to 20 thousand units worth over 20 million
dollars".
The press
service of the Cognitive Pilot added that the company's Tomsk project has attracted
the attention of the federal authorities. "The products of the Tomsk
high-tech cluster (part of which is Cognitive Factory) ... are in great demand
in the domestic market and are highly competitive in the global economic space.
We are ready to support this project", – Deputy Minister of Industry and
Trade of the Russian Federation Alexander Morozov is quoted.
"The Tomsk
region is one of the five most innovatively developed regions of Russia. Our
strong point is, firstly, close cooperation of universities, academic
institutions and high-tech industries, and secondly, the stake of innovative
business is not on supply, but on demand. Interaction with Cognitive
