TOMSK, Sep 8 – RIA Tomsk. An employee of the Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics of Tomsk State University (FMM TSU) Nadezhda Bondareva became a scholar of the Russian competition "For Women in Science" L'OREAL-UNESCO, reported on the university's website on Tuesday.

Earlier it was reported that L'OREAL-UNESCO - is a joint project of UNESCO and L'Oreal. The scholarship program is intended for women scientists under the age of 35 working in Russian research institutes and universities in the field of physics, chemistry, medicine and biology. In Russia, the project is being implemented with the support of the Russian Academy of Sciences and the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation.

"TSU mathematician Nadezhda Bondareva received the L'OREAL-UNESCO award. In 2020, 10 young candidates and doctors of sciences from all over Russia became scholarships. The amount of the scholarship - is 500 thousand rubles", - is said in the statement.

It is added that Bondareva - is an associate professor of the Department of Theoretical Mechanics at the FMM TSU and a researcher at the Laboratory on Convective Heat and Mass Transfer. Her scientific work is related to the modeling of heat transfer processes.

"Currently, I am studying the processes of wax melting in cooling systems: such systems, in certain conditions, protect the elements from overheating, without requiring additional energy costs, and can also be used in construction to smooth out temperature fluctuations", - the scholarship holder is quoted on the university's website.

It is noted that over the 13 years of existence of the "For Women in Science" program in Russia, 125 young women researchers have been awarded the L'OREAL-UNESCO prize for important scientific achievements. Bondareva became the third scholar from TSU, earlier this prize was awarded to physicist Yulia Kalugina and chemist Tatyana Menshchikova.
