TOMSK, Oct 7 – RIA Tomsk. The online course of Tomsk State University (TSU) Presentation skills entered the top 20 most demanded
courses according to the rating of the main English MOOC search engine (massive
open online course) – Class Central, it has accumulated more than 100 thousand
listeners around the world, the university's press service said on Wednesday.
It is noted that TSU has been developing distance
education for more than 20 years, in recent years it has already released more
than 90 online courses. The number of listeners over the past five years has
amounted to about 800 thousand, of which in 2020 – more than 300 thousand
people.
"The online course Presentation skills entered
the top 20 most popular according to the rating of the main English search
engine of MOOCs – Class Central. The best online courses of all time ranking
was compiled on the basis of feedback from 125 thousand users. The online
course of TSU Presentation skills has accumulated over 100 thousands of
listeners around the world", – says the message.
The online course Presentation skills was created in
2017 in collaboration with the E-Learning Development Fund (ELDF). The author
of the course is Alexey Kapterev, an employee of Lomonosov Moscow State
University Business School (Lomonosov MSUBS).
"The course teaches the art of presentation and
is designed for a wide range of users: managers, scientists, students,
officials, businessmen - anyone who faces the need to speak in public. It not
only has been at the top of the ranking of the main MOOC search engine in the
UK, but also leads two categories: programs for business and programs for
presentations", – the director of the TSU Institute of Distance Education

Earlier in the spring of 2020, the Presentation skills
MOOC hit the top 5 presentation skills courses compiled by Vogue magazine in
India. The TSU course was the only Russian product in the top five. All other
participants in the ranking are from leading American universities.
Earlier it was reported that TSU in the context of the
COVID-19 pandemic provides assistance in organizing distance learning to many
educational institutions in Russia and neighboring countries. In the spring of
2020, students from 40 universities studied at TSU courses within the framework
of network interaction. TSU opened for them access to more than 70 of its courses
for free, posted on the platforms Coursera, Stepik, Lektorium and others.
