TOMSK, Nov 11 – RIA TomskTomsk State University (TSU) launched a free course of video lectures on the history of wine, the rules for combining it with food and world trends in the wine industry on Wednesday, an employee of the TSU Open University center Anna Kozhevnikova told RIA Tomsk.

Earlier it was reported that in 2013 an educational center Open University was created at TSU. Its specialists conduct free courses for Tomsk residents on various topics.

"Oenology is a new direction for the Open University. We have never had any lectures or any other events related to the topic of food and drinks. The proposal to organize a course of educational lectures on wine came from Tomsk residents. These are lectures of a general cultural nature", - Kozhevnikova said.

She clarified that the author and lecturer of the course is sommelier Margarita Belyashova (Tomsk).

"Already in the first lecture on Wednesday, the author will tell about the history of winemaking, how it all began and took shape, what are the current global trends in winemaking. And all subsequent lectures are connected with the topic of an accurate and conscious attitude to wine. And it is no coincidence that the author himself talks about that the lectures are aimed at gaining general knowledge about wine”, - the agency's interlocutor emphasized.

Kozhevnikova added that the lecture recordings are published on the resources of the Open University - on the website and on social networks.
