TOMSK, Dec 9 – RIA Tomsk. Tomsk State University (TSU) signed a memorandum with the Indonesian Universitas Pembangunan Nasional "Veteran" Yogyakarta within the framework of which universities intend to develop programs for scientific and student exchange and joint research, the TSU website reported on Wednesday.
It is specified that the Universitas Pembangunan Nasional "Veteran" Yogyakarta is a patriotic institution of higher education, actively developing its educational base. The university has the Faculty of Mineral Technology, Industrial Engineering, Agriculture, Economics and Business and the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, the university conducts active scientific work and broadcasts its civic position.
"We already have experience working with Indonesian students. Now we have 59 of them, and I hope this number will increase soon. Thanks to our cooperation, exchange of students and teachers, joint research and activities, we will be able not only to come to new scientific discoveries, but also get to know each other's rich cultures better", - TSU Rector Eduard Galazhinsky is quoted in the message.

According to the press service, the memorandum was signed the day before and implies mutually beneficial cooperation. For TSU, it became the 288th agreement on international cooperation. In addition to Indonesia, the university's partners include universities in France, Germany, Italy, Austria, the Netherlands, the Czech Republic, Japan, Belgium and other countries.
It is noted that TSU has long and fruitfully cooperated with Indonesian universities. So, since 2014, joint summer and winter schools have been held annually for students of both countries, agreements have been concluded with Gadjah Mada University, Udayana University, Pajjaran University and others.
