TOMSK, Jan 15 –
RIA Tomsk. Confucius Institute of Tomsk State University (TSU) and Shenyang Ligong University (SLU) will open a free
online Chinese language school on January 19; the organizers plan to recruit
three groups of 15 people for a monthly course, the press service of the
university said on Friday.
According to the
press service, on January 19, classes begin at the online school of the Chinese
language, which is organized by the Confucius Institute of TSU and Shenyang
Ligong University (SLU). Students will learn the language in the form of
practical classes, as well as using interactive technologies. One of the main
tasks of the school is to show how effective learning a foreign language in an
online format can be.
"Three
groups will be recruited with different levels of proficiency – from beginner
to advanced. The number of places is limited, since these will not be
traditional lectures, but practical classes, direct communication with the
teacher. We plan to recruit groups in which there will be no more than 15
people", – the director of Confucius Institute of Tomsk State University

Free classes
will be conducted by native speakers – employees of the SLU Institute of
International Education, the duration of the training will be one month.
Listeners will receive a large amount of audio and video content, and
technology will help to maximize their involvement in learning. For example, a
student can scan a QR code from a presentation and follow the link to take a
test or go to a useful resource recommended by the teacher.

"Participants
(of the winter school) will not waste time in class on routine processes, such
as checking homework or testing. For these purposes, teachers will recommend
the most effective online simulators, this will free up time for creative and
productive communication", – explains Dankov.
As he specified
to RIA Tomsk, after completing school, interested students can continue their
studies at the Confucius Institute on a paid basis.
One can register
for the online winter school on the website of the TSU Confucius Institute.
Upon completion of the training, students will receive a certificate of
completion of the course.
