TOMSK, Feb 16 – RIA Tomsk. Projects in the field of
nuclear medicine and health engineering to be the main research areas for Tomsk Polytechnic University (TPU) in 2021 – the Year of Science and Technology; TPU
continues their implementation with Siberian State Medical University (SSMU)
and Tomsk National Research Medical Center (TNRMC), the press service of TPU
reported.
Recall that 2021 was declared the Year of Science and
Technology by decree of the President of the Russian Federation.
"What is globally important now for the world,
for Russia and for TPU? First of all, it is health. Health engineering is one
of the TPU's stakes. This is research in the field of targeted drug delivery,
nuclear medicine. And here we certainly work in close cooperation with our
partners in the region: Siberian State Medical University, TNRMC", – the
press service quotes TPU Acting Rector Andrey Yakovlev.
He reminded that the university now has several
large-scale projects supported under the megagrant program. In particular, they
are devoted to creating a line of new radiopharmaceuticals at the Center of
Nuclear Medicine. Their implementation will continue this year as well.
"We increasingly understand that the development
of the country is impossible without science. It may seem that the pandemic has
slowed down many processes. But in fact, right now, revolutionary changes are
unfolding in front of us... And we must understand in which specific areas we
can be globally competitive", – Deputy Governor Lyudmila Ogorodova is
