TOMSK, Apr 1 – RIA Tomsk. Sports instructor of the Tomsk Center for Social Initiatives Vitaly Vivchar entered the Guinness Book of World Records, where his record in the bench press now recorded.
Earlier it was reported that in August 2020, on Lake Lebyazhye in the village of Pobeda near Tomsk, Vivchar set a new Guinness record for bench press under water, he pressed a barbell weighing 50 kilograms 76 times - 14 more than the previous record holder - American Greg Wittstock.
"Just an hour ago I received an email informing me that everything is officially approved and I entered the Guinness Book of Records... Now my name will be in this book. I hope the print edition will be released this year, I will buy it and will show to my grandchildren," Vivchar told RIA Tomsk.
Vitaly Vivchar is a multiple champion of regional competitions, champion of Russia and Eurasia in Russian bench press. He is also listed in the Russian Book of Records with the result of pressing a barbell of 55 kilograms 1006 times in one hour.
