TOMSK, Apr 16 – RIA Tomsk. Teams from the cities of the Russian Federation, as well as Belarus and Great Britain will compete for the main prize in the amount of 300 thousand rubles at the Tomsk stage of the Startup Tour technological projects competition, the organizers told RIA Tomsk on Friday.
The regional stage of Startup Tour 2021 in Tomsk will take place on April 26 at startup-tour.ru. Registered visitors will be able to communicate with the semi-finalists, jury, experts of the Skolkovo Foundation and other participants of the event.
"The Startup Tour technology project competition in Tomsk received 95 applications from 19 Russian cities, as well as from Minsk and Norwich. Now the experts will have to choose five semi-finalists in each of the three competitive tracks. On April 26, they will present their projects to the jury members and compete for the main prize of the competition - 300 thousand rubles," the representative of the organizing company said.
The greatest interest among the contestants was aroused by the track "Information Technologies". The track "Industrial and Energy Technologies" received 22 applications, the track "Biotechnology in Medicine and Agriculture" - 21. Among the regions, the Tomsk region is the leader - 62 applications from Tomsk and three from Seversk.
“It is a common practice for the participants of our Startup Tour to apply in another region. Every year there were teams that came from neighboring cities in whole delegations, happily spending time for travel and money for tickets. And thanks to the online format, to present a project at the competition, you don't have to go anywhere," general director of the ANO SK Forum Ekaterina Inozemtseva is quoted in the message.
According to the Deputy Governor of the Tomsk region for Economy Andrey Antonov, who is quoted in the message, "the ecosystem formed in the region to support innovative development and technological entrepreneurship contributes to the emergence of many new promising developments that combine a scientific basis and commercial potential."
Startup Tour is a large-scale project aimed at developing a culture of technological entrepreneurship and identifying promising innovative startups in Russia in the regions. Since 2011, it has been held in more than 100 cities, experts reviewed over 15 thousand applications.
In 2021, the Startup Tour will be held online, covering eight cities - Tver, Ufa, Samara, Nizhny Novgorod, St. Petersburg, Krasnodar, Tomsk, Murmansk. The organizers of the event are the Skolkovo Foundation and ANO SK Forum. Participation is free.
