The Governor of the Tomsk Region Sergey Zhvachkin on Thursday signed an
agreement with the heads of Siberian regions, which provides for
development of joint investment project in tourism; this will allow to
receive state financing and develop tourist infrastructure in Siberia,
reports the press service of the regional administration.
According
to the press service, Zhvachkin signed on Thursday an agreement on the
development of domestic and incoming tourism in Siberia with heads of
the regions included into the Interregional Association Siberian Accord
(IASA). The signing took place at the Great Siberia stand of the St.
Petersburg International Economic Forum.
"The document
concerns the cooperation of Siberian governors on the implementation of a
comprehensive investment project (CIP) in the field of tourism,

It
is noted that the Siberian project will support both regional and
interregional investment projects. Among the latter there are routes
"Great Tea Way", "Wagon of knowledge. Siberia", "Golden Ring of Siberia.
Discovering Siberia", "Incredible Siberia. Cruise along the Ob River".
"The
project "Golden Ring of Siberia", uniting all 10 Siberian regions, was
developed by our Tomsk branch of the Russian Geographical Society,
laying a tourist route of 10 thousand kilometers. The time has come to
open our Siberia to everyone, but without intensive development of
tourist infrastructure, creating comfortable conditions for travelers,
it may remain a pious wish. This is what the Siberian tourist project is
for", –Zhvachkin is quoted as saying.
