TOMSK, Jun 4 – RIA Tomsk. Tomsk Polytechnic University (TPU) together with industrial partner EleSy-Pro
opened a modern Laboratory of Automated Control Systems (ACS);
undergraduates of the Power and Heat Engineering program will master
technologies of high-speed thermal measurements and design elements and
units of control systems, the university's press service said.
is noted that the laboratory was created by an interdisciplinary team
of School of Energy & Power Engineering and Research School of
High-Energy Physics with the support of the company EleSy-Pro and the
Technical University of Darmstadt. Leading scientists from global
research centers and specialists from high-tech industries are brought
in to work with students in the lab.
"The laboratory is
primarily designed for master's degree students in thermal power
engineers. At the same time, it allows implementing two trajectories of
training specialists – engineering and scientific, including in
English... This will allow TPU to train specialists in demand at the
international level", – the press service quotes the manager of the
project, Professor of Butakov Research Center Pavel Strizhak.

virtual complexes were developed for students to work in the
laboratory. They allow practicing skills in 3D assembly of automation
switchboard, optical methods of diagnostics of steam and gas flows,
control of processes at SCADA level. In addition, undergraduates will be
able to simulate the automated design of standard electrical
connections in the automation switchboard, the report noted.
specialists of EleSy-Pro and TPU have jointly developed virtual
laboratory and practical works with the possibility of remote access to
them. In addition, the industrial partner equipped the classroom with
three automation boards with modern domestic and foreign equipment", –
says the report.
