TOMSK, Jun 4 – RIA Tomsk. ER-Telecom Holding (Dom.ru) plans to invest 350 million rubles in the development of telecommunications in the Tomsk region; an agreement between the region and the holding was signed on Friday at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, the press service of the regional administration reported.
"Today, June 4, at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, Governor of the Tomsk region Sergey Zhvachkin and President of ER-Telecom Holding Andrey Kuzyaev signed a cooperation agreement. One of the largest Russian telecommunication companies intends to invest 350 million rubles in the region's telecommunication development," says the report.
ER-Telecom Holding plans to increase availability of communication along public roads, implement Smart City and Smart Institution projects, implement intelligent transportation systems and resource accounting programs, the report noted.
The company also declared its readiness to develop complex video monitoring and video analytics systems, to deal with digitalization of agriculture, including the use of industrial internet of things. The agreement also envisages the opening of the ER-Telecom technological center in Tomsk, the region's press service adds.
"For our Tomsk region, which surpasses Great Britain in area, high-quality and accessible communication is extremely important. We are interested in large-scale digitalization of the social sphere and the real sector of the economy, which will increase productivity, quality and standard of living of people," the press service quotes Zhvachkin as saying.
Earlier it was reported that in March 2021 ER-Telecom Holding said it was ready to upgrade its networks in 11 million apartments across Russia, including Tomsk, by 2022. This will allow customers to access the Internet at speeds of 1-10 gigabits per second (Gbit/s).
According to the SPARK-Interfax analytical system, ER-Telecom Holding was registered in Perm in 2006. It is referred to as a non-public joint stock company. Its core business is wireline telecommunications. The owner of 100% of shares is Er-Telecom Holding Limited, a Cypriot offshore company controlled by Pfig Overseas Invest Holding LTD. According to the results of 2020, the company's revenue amounted to 45.3 billion rubles, net profit - 5.05 billion rubles.
