According to
him, the reconstruction of the runway of the Tomsk airport will continue
in 2022, but work on sewage treatment facilities and the new 300 meters
of the runway will go as long as the weather allows.
It
was also reported earlier that the current runway of the Tomsk airport
is 2.5 kilometres and will increase to 2.8 kilometres after the
reconstruction. It will allow to get the class B instead of the current B
and to receive a larger number of aircraft models, including long-haul
aircraft, for example, Boeing 777. The general contractor of the work is
TDSC, who has also been charged with equipping the runway with a
drainage and sewage system and treatment facilities, a new checkpoint
and an emergency rescue station. The work is due to be completed in
2022.
