TOMSK, Oct 13 – RIA Tomsk. Tomsk
Philharmonic is launching a new project Universitetsky Prospekt
("University Avenue") – a series of three youth concerts; the first will
be held on Friday, musicians to play the favorite music of Elon Musk,
Steve Jobs, Bill Gates and other famous people, dressed in sneakers and
sweatshirts, project author and conductor Vladimir Dorokhov told.
"The
motto of this series of concerts is: "Sweatshirts and sneakers are
welcome". That is, you can come in comfortable clothing, there is no
dress code. The orchestra will also be dressed like that; we won't have
anyone in a dinner jacket or a tailcoat including the conductor; I'll be
in a hoodie, jogging trousers and trainers. We are trying to be close
to the students; we all used to be students ourselves", – he said.
The
University Avenue project is named after Lenin Avenue in Tomsk, where
several large universities are located. So far, three concerts are
planned: Great Students, Student Cafe, and Creditable Concert.
The
first will be held on Friday, October 15, at 7 p.m. in the Great
Concert Hall. On it, musicians will play the favourite music of famous
people: Steve Jobs, Elon Musk, Bill Gates, Charles Darwin, Leo Tolstoy,
Joanne Rowling, Dmitri Mendeleev and others. Audiences will hear
compositions ranging from classics to jazz and rock, and get to know the
greats from their "melomaniacal side".
"They were all
students. Some people dislike being students, some like it, some took
the good out of it, some changed their minds, but still, being a student
is a stepping stone in life – no one would ever jump over it. There are
many such people who entered one department, then realized that it
wasn't theirs, and enrolled in another university at a completely
different department", – Dorokhov said.
