of Tomsk universities and colleges of higher education should be
vaccinated against COVID-19 only for practical training outside their
educational institutions, follows from the decision of the Chief
Sanitary Doctor of the Tomsk region Olga Pichugina.
Earlier
it was reported that vaccination for doctors, teachers, officials, law
enforcement officers, service providers and students became mandatory in
the Tomsk region from October 15. As Pichugina previously reported,
only 20% of students at Tomsk universities have been vaccinated against
COVID-19 to date, and even if distance learning takes place, the
coronavirus infection can be transmitted in dormitories.
The
text of the resolution of the region's chief sanitary doctor on
preventive vaccination of certain groups of citizens according to
epidemic indications in the Tomsk region appeared on the website of the
Service for Surveillance on Consumer Rights Protection and Human
Wellbeing (Rospotrebnadzor) on October 20.
"I
resolve to provide prophylactic vaccination by epidemic indications
against new coronavirus infection (COVID-19) <...> to students of
professional educational organizations and educational organizations of
higher education over 18 years old sent for practice and training
outside the structural subdivisions of professional and educational
organizations of higher education", – says the text of the document.
A
Tomsk Polytechnic University (TPU) spokeswoman told the agency that
vaccination is also not mandatory for those living in dormitories.
