TOMSK, Mar 10 – RIA Tomsk. Tomsk Polytechnic University (TPU) entered the top-200 list of best universities in Europe according to the magazine Times Higher Education (THE), is informed on Thursday on edition site.
Earlier it was informed that in the general rating THE World University Rankings by the end of 2015 TPU for the first time entered the group 251-300.
In total the rating of the best European universities includes five Russian universities. On the 79th place is Lomonosov Moscow State University, then in the rating is Peter the Great St.Petersburg Polytechnic University (group 111-120), and then - Tomsk Polytechnic University (group 131-140).
Even lower (the group 151-160) is Kazan Federal University. The last of the Russian universities in the rating became National Research Nuclear University MEPhI (161-170).
TPU Rector Petr Chubik, commenting on the results of European rating THE, has noted: "Europe – is a cradle of universities in the world and become one of the 140 best European universities for Tomsk Polytechnic University, of course, is very honourable. For us it is not only the original indicator of positive development dynamics preservation, but also it's new possibilities", – is told in the message posted on the University website.
