TOMSK, Apr 7 – RIA Tomsk.Tomsk State (TSU) and Tomsk Polytechnic (TPU) universities have improved the positions in the world rating of Round University Ranking (RUR) on quality of teaching – TSU has risen by 31 points and has taken the 100th place, and TPU has moved from the 179th to the 148th place, TASS with reference to the press service of RUR reports.
RUR rating is the only Russian rating of universities of the world, is published since 2010. It considers quality of teaching and researches, level of internationalization and financial stability of higher education institutions. 700 higher education institutions from 74 countries, from them 23 higher education institutions from Russia have been presented in the world rating for 2016.
Earlier it was reported that TSU took 131 places, and TPU – 179 in RUR rating on quality of education of 2015.TASS reports, TSU has risen in the world rating on quality of teaching to the 100th place, and TPU became the 148th. California Institute of Technology (USA) is on the first place. The best result from the Russian higher education institutions has shown Moscow State University (MSU), it has taken the 46th place in the world.
Among Russian higher education institutions, which are in the rating, TSU became the second on quality of teaching, TPU has taken the sixth place on this indicator. MSU became the leader in Russian top-10.
Also top-10 includes: Russian Peoples' Friendship University (3rd place), National Research Nuclear University MEPhI (4), Nizhny Novgorod State University (5), ITMO University (7), Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology (8), Russian State Oil and Gas University (9) and Moscow Aviation Institute (10).
TASS reports with reference to the press service of RUR, results of the rating of 2016 show "a long-term trend in improvement of positions of the Russian higher education institutions, "which is connected with complex effect of programs of target support of higher education institutions". On average, the gain of positions of higher education institutions of the Russian Federation has made 44 positions.
