TOMSK, Apr 22 – RIA Tomsk. The sure natural increase of population is observed in the Tomsk region; for the last four years the number of inhabitants of the region has increased by 20 thousand people, the governor Sergey Zhvachkin has reported, submitting the annual report on work of the regional authorities.
On Friday Zhvachkin has reported to deputies of the regional duma and the public on results of work of administration of the Tomsk region in the past year, and also on plans for 2016.
"The results of the socio-economic situation in our region, I traditionally will illustrate with data on demography. I congratulate you on the steady natural growth of population. On the first of January of this year residents of the Tomsk region were 1,076 million people. In four years we became 20 thousand more people", – Zhvachkin has noted.
He has also added that on this indicator the region advances many territorial subjects of the Russian Federation."The region where people want to bring children, where they go to live – this is our favorite Tomsk region", – the governor has emphasized.
Earlier it was reported that in 2013 1,064 million people lived in the Tomsk region, in 2014 the population has grown up to 1,074 million people, at the end of 2015 the authorities reported that growth of population in the region is expected at the level of 4-4,2 thousand people.
