TOMSK, Sep 2 – RIA Tomsk. Participants of an expedition of the Tomsk State University (TSU) found on the banks of the River Bolshoy Kemchug in a remote Siberian taiga the remains of dinosaurs which, perhaps, are a species of ancient reptiles earlier unknown to science, the paleontologist Stepan Ivantsov reported RIA Tomsk.
Earlier it was reported that TSU scientists not the first year working on the banks of Bolshoy Kemchug in Krasnoyarsk Krai. So, about the village of Shestakovo they found the remains of Titanosaurid, allegedly previously undiscovered species. Now scientists write article about this opening, and in the course of work they found out that they deal with the remains not of one, but two species of dinosaurs.
"In the course of work it become clear that large herbivorous sauropod dinosaurs living in this territory there were two species. Perhaps, the second one – is also of the Titanosaurid family", – Ivantsov told.
According to him, it was succeeded to "figure out" a new species on distinctions in teeth. "Teeth of earlier opened Titanosaurid – are spoonkind form with the surface of deleting at top. And at other taxon - crown is more stright and also slightly pointed. Possibly, the structure of teeth reflects adaptation to this or that diet: they worked as garden scissors – the animal broke plant material, swallowed, without chewing", – Ivantsov explained.The scientist noted that the new species of dinosaurs lived in the southeast of Western Siberia, in a refugiuma: the area where some types could endure safely shocks which have led to disappearance of their relatives on other planet. Possibly, two species of herbivorous dinosaurs could get on because they had different "diet": one could eat vegetation from tops of trees, and others – a pasture.
He specified that to draw conclusions on how earlier unknown species of reptiles looked, is impossible, as elements of their skeleton aren't revealed yet. The interlocutor of the agency added that guesses of scientists are confirmed by the finds made in August of this year on the river Bolshoy Kemchug where found the set of the remains belonging to different animals from a young to possibly deep old.
