TOMSK, Jun 13 – RIA Tomsk. International group of scientists headed by professor Nalin Jayakodi develops technologies for wireless transmission of energy through networks of mobile communication of fifth generation (5G); development is carried on the basis of department of program engineering of Tomsk Polytechnic University (TPU), press service of the university reported.
According to open sources, 5G (fifth generation) is the developed fifth generation of mobile communication. Data transmission rate reaches 25 gigabits per second within experimental networks. Record data transmission rate, which made 35 gigabits per second, was reached in Russia in 2016 during the experiment with the 5G network.
"We developed the algorithm which allows to transfer energy from device to device together with a radio signal... Electromagnetic waves transfer energy from one smartphone to another during conversation, and this energy can be enough for recharge your mobile phone", – the press service quotes professor Jayakodi.
It is specified that experts in wireless technologies from India and Sri Lanka enter into research team of professor Jayakodi, besides employees of TPU. The group develops transfer algorithms of energy through mobile networks with the minimum losses when transporting.According to the higher education institution, now the collective optimizes the algorithm and checks its efficiency by means of methods of mathematical modeling. University of Luxembourg, University of Western Ontario (Canada) and University of Edinburgh (Great Britain) help polytechnics.
It is added that there is one more area of work of scientific group of professor Jayakodi – technology of communication of device to device format. This technology will allow people to contact, bypassing the intermediary in the form of the base station.
