TOMSK, Sep 27 – RIA Tomsk. Tomsk Polytechnic University (TPU) with the support of Rosatom is preparing a multinational interdisciplinary team of specialists who will work in a radiation department of the future Center for Nuclear Research and Technology in Bolivia, Vice-Rector for External Affairs of TPU Liliya Kiryanova said journalists.
It was previously reported that Tomsk Polytechnic University is the only university in Russia whose foreign students can perform laboratory work on the current research nuclear reactor. In addition, the university provides its foreign listeners with the opportunity to undergo practice at the current nuclear energy facilities of Rosatom.
"TPU developed a unique model that involves training personnel for new facilities. <…> The Centre for Nuclear Research and Technology in Bolivia will have an irradiation department. At the moment, all future specialists of this future department are trained in TPU – a complete set: from a future director to the laboratory technician of this department", – Kiryanova said.
She clarified that Rosatom selected future employees of the centre. Today TPU trains 48 foreign specialists from different countries of the world, including Egypt, Ghana, Bolivia, Tanzania, Egypt, Russia and others, for Rosatom projects. At the moment, future employees are trained in master's degree, postgraduate studies, advanced training and retraining programs.
She added that TPU will further develop the model of training of foreign specialists for domestic and foreign objects working on Russian technologies. The university plans to create new projects with Rosatom and replicate this model of training at Russian enterprises, which build or plan to build objects of foreign economic activity in foreign territories.
"Today we are interested in preparing foreign students who will not just leave for their countries after graduation, but who will work in one way or another for the Russian economy, with Russian technologies. We hope that there will be more such projects in Tomsk, and our new future campus will contribute to the emergence of even more talented students in the region", – Kiryanova said.
