TOMSK, Nov 9 – RIA Tomsk. Tomsk State University (TSU) in 2021 will increase the number of directions that applicants will be able to specify in the application upon admission, from three to 10, the executive secretary of the TSU admission committee Evgeny Pavlov said on Monday in a live broadcast.
Earlier it was reported that since 2021 the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation will change the procedure for admission to universities. Some of the new rules are introduced centrally for all higher educational institutions, while some universities are chosen for themselves.
According to Pavlov, previously an applicant could specify no more than three areas and specialties in the application.
"Now (in 2021) one can specify up to 10 of them (directions) ... With one set of subjects, one can really participate in the competition up to 10 times and take part in 10 lists of competitive ones, that is, expand your options for choice", - the executive secretary of the TSU admission committee explained.
He noted that from 2021, applicants will be able to choose the third subject themselves, the points for which will be taken into account upon admission. This will allow prospective students to apply for more specializations with the same set of subjects. Also, applicants will be able to submit up to 10 applications for admission, instead of two in the past years.Pavlov added that for foreign citizens who enter a fee-paying form of education, a separate list of entrance examinations has been formed, which is different from other categories of applicants.
