12 – RIA Tomsk. The training military center of Tomsk State University (TSU)
will start training translators from the Portuguese language in 2015, the press
service of higher education institution reported.
Till this
year translators from French and Chinese languages were trained, the knowledge
of English language was obligatory for them.
"The
first students who will learn Portuguese language were recruited to TSU for the
first time. They will have the specialty of "Translation Theory and
Practice" and the higher military education. Those who selected for so
difficult, but interesting profession are at the same time students of the
faculty of foreign languages and Educational military center of the Institute
of military education in TSU", – it is told in the message.

According
to the deputy chief of the military center the colonel Valery Lesny, there are
all necessary opportunities in TSU for training of translators from Portuguese.
"There were a lot of those who are interested in receiving this specialty,
but recruitment is limited, only best of the best entered", – he noted.
During the
training according to the program students pass a training session as soldiers,
and also as an officer. After graduation they will get the military rank
"lieutenant" and the position at which they should serve will be
defined.
It is mark
that the biggest part of the military translators goes to serve in Linguistic
center of Ministry of Defence. Some graduates go to troop units or teach in
military educational institutions. After the three-year contract with the
Ministry of Defence they have the right to return to civil life.
