TOMSK, Aug 24 – RIA Tomsk.Tomsk Polytechnic University (TPU) and the Egyptian-Russian University signed the cooperation agreement on Monday within which they will train experts for nuclear branch of Egypt, the rector of Tomsk higher education institution Pyotr Chubik reported.

The delegation from Egypt works in Tomsk within two-day visit, among participants are the Minister of Higher Education and Science of Egypt El Syed Ahmed Abdel Halek and representatives of local higher education institutions. The delegation works in TPU on Monday.

"In fact, Egypt creates a new branch – nuclear power. Also different experts and science are necessary. And we are ready to help you", – Chubik told.

According to the rector, the higher education institution already has experience of similar projects with the Chinese higher education institutions. "We even have advantages before programs which we realize with the Chinese partners because our partner is the Egyptian-Russian university where studying of Russian is obligatory", – he added.

Chubik specified that Egyptian HEI will prepare specialists for 3 years within the agreement. Then they will study in TPU for 2,5 years, where there is a serious science school and the only training nuclear reactor in Russia. Moreover the possibility of academic exchange between the HEIs is considered.

"It is not a secret that "Rosatom" creates the NPP in Egypt, and Egypt needs specialists… I know that it is (TPU) one of the best universities in this area (nuclear power), and I found out it in "Rosatom", – the president of the Egyptian-Russian University Cheriffe Soliman Helmi told.
