TOMSK, Nov 19 – RIA Tomsk.
Radiophysics of Tomsk State University (TSU) developed the Radio eye which can
find the forbidden subjects through a wall and at distance more than 10 meters,
the press service of the higher educational institution reported on Thursday.
"This device has big advantages
in comparison with the available analogs – it acts on rather long distance and
because of the low level of the used radiation doesn't do harm to health of a
person", – the press service quoted the research associate of the
department of radiophysics of the higher education institution Ksenia Zavyalova
.
It is noted that "Radio
eye" is created at the department of radiophysics. The device represents
radar with a reflector, which diameter is 160 centimeters, and allows to find
the hidden electronic subjects – the radio-electronic elements containing
diodes, schemes, starting arrangements remotely and invisibly.

"At the expense of a parabolic
reflector it possesses very big orientation and range of action (to 10 meters
and more) and is capable to see the subjects hidden for standard metal
detectors", – it is told in the message.
It is specified that the staff of
the chair made an experiment: at first a person was searched with a standard
metal detector which found phone, keys, watches and other metal subjects.
However it didn't find the simulator of the forbidden subject with the starting
arrangement which was in a bag. It managed to be found by means of "radio
eye" which was behind a wall during the experiment.
It is added that the device can be
used in points of examination in airports, at stations, in concert halls,
shopping centers, stadiums, schools. "Radio eyes" will reveal the
person with a suspicious subject in a bag or under clothes in a big flow of the
passing people and transfer the image of its carrier to the screen of security
service.
