TOMSK, Mar 22 – RIA Tomsk. Software, developed in Tomsk State University (TSU),
will allow to model protective coatings, masking objects from electromagnetic
radiation; such materials can be used for aircraft masking, "plugs"
for cellular and even for an "invisibility cap" creation, the program
developer Egor Yurchenko told RIA Tomsk on Tuesday.
The program of the Tomsk student can simulate the materials invisible to radio
tomographs, but in the future will be possible the working out of invisible to
the eye materials. According to Yurchenko, existing software hardly copes with
the solution of such problems in real time, even on supercomputers.

"Here is used the special algorithm based on operations with independent
blocks which on the given class of problems is to work fast. The existing
software packages solve such tasks "brute-force", – told the
interlocutor of the agency.
As he said, similar metamaterials already exist. "Metamaterials are
man-made crystals which are made of very small synthetic components, sometimes
of nanoscale. In this way they demonstrate the special properties that are
absent in natural materials", – said Yurchenko.
He has added that with the help of the program it will be possible to create a
casing for an aircraft which is impossible to detect by radar, as well as to
make a "cap", which will be invisible itself, and all that is hidden
under it – too. Presumably, in far prospect with the help of this software it
will be possible to create a invisibility cloak, as in the books about Harry
Potter.
