TOMSK, Jul 18 – RIA Tomsk. RVC Seed Fund Ltd and Tomsk State University (TSU) became the founders of the first venture fund in Russia, where
the university acted as the party of the contract of investment partnership;
the size of the fund will be 33.3 million rubles, the press service of the
regional administration said on Tuesday.
"The parties signed the investment partnership agreement on July 13. The
size of the fund – is 33.3 million rubles. The shares of RVC Seed Fund and TSU
amounted to 75% and 25% respectively", – is said in the report, and
specified that as the management company of the fund acts the DI-Group holding
specializing in support of high-tech start-ups.

It is added that this is the first such fund in Russia."In this case, for
the first time the university which deposits real money acts as the partner in
fund. This is a unique case, the first in our country. Students, graduate
students will be able to see on real cases how "in adult way" the
process of investing happens, the vice rector of TSU for information activities
Konstantin Belyakov is quoted in the message.
It is noted that the maximum amount of the fund's investments in one project
will not exceed eight million rubles. Among the priorities – are basic
technologies of power electrical engineering, bioengineering, biosynthetic,
biosensory, nano-, information and cognitive technologies, as well as
technologies for creating of energy-efficient systems for transportation,
distribution, and energy use.
"TSU – is one of the most dynamic partners for the development of an
innovative ecosystem for the RVC for many years. The established fund will
develop both university start-ups and projects of the entire Tomsk innovation
region. RVC Seed Fund already has a group of such microfunds, including Moscow
University (MSU Science Park)", – the director of RVC subsidiary
funds Evgeny Kuznetsov is quoted in the message.
"Before our eyes is creating a system-built, mutually beneficial,
long-term program, which at one point concentrates resources for the
development of entrepreneurship. We have a chance to create such a partnership,
on which other regions will emulate", – the press service cites the
founder of the DI-Group Igor Kovalyov.
